Mutual Fund Distribution
Regular options across every major fund house — chosen for your goal, not for a commission slab.
What it is
We are an AMFI registered mutual fund distributor. That means we help you choose, apply for, monitor and eventually redeem mutual fund schemes — and we are paid a commission by the Asset Management Company whose scheme you invest in.
There are more than forty fund houses in India and several thousand scheme variants between them. Most of that choice is noise. What actually matters is far shorter: what category the scheme sits in, how long you can leave the money alone, what the scheme costs you every year, and whether you will still be holding it when the market has a bad eighteen months.
So that is what we work through with you. We start with the goal and the horizon, narrow to the right category — equity, debt, hybrid or index — and only then look at individual schemes. Category first, scheme second. Doing it the other way round is how people end up with eleven overlapping funds and no strategy.
You will always know what you own and why. Ask us the commission on any scheme and we will tell you before you invest a rupee.
Who this suits
You are probably in the right place if…
- Anyone with a goal more than three years away and no appetite for picking individual stocks
- Investors who want professional fund management without a large minimum investment
- People who want one point of contact for folios spread across many fund houses
- Families who value help with paperwork, nominee registration and eventual transmission
Who this does not suit
We would rather say so up front.
- Money you will need within a year — a savings account or short-term deposit is the honest answer
- Anyone who has been promised a guaranteed return; no market-linked product can offer one
- Investors who prefer direct options and are comfortable handling their own research and paperwork
How it works
Four steps, in this order
Understand the goal
What the money is for, when you need it, and how much of a fall you could live with.
Pick the category
Equity, debt, hybrid or index — matched to the horizon before any scheme name is discussed.
Shortlist the scheme
Category, riskometer, expense ratio, exit load and portfolio concentration, written down.
Invest and monitor
Application in your own name to the AMC, then annual reviews and rebalancing as goals shift.
What it costs
Charges, plainly
- What you pay us
- Nothing directly. We earn commission from the AMC out of the scheme's expense ratio.
- Regular vs direct
- We distribute regular options, which carry a slightly higher expense ratio than direct optans. Both hold the identical portfolio.
- Exit load
- Many equity schemes charge around 1% if you redeem within a year. It is disclosed in the scheme document.
- Stamp duty
- 0.005% on every purchase, deducted at source, as mandated across the industry.
- Tax
- Depends on scheme type and holding period. We flag it; your tax consultant confirms it.
What could go wrong
The risks, stated first
- The NAV of a scheme can and does fall. Equity schemes have historically fallen 30–50% in severe markets.
- Debt schemes are not risk-free — they carry interest rate risk and credit risk.
- Past performance tells you what happened; it does not tell you what will happen.
- Concentrated or thematic schemes can underperform the broad market for years at a stretch.
Mutual fund investments are subject to market risks. Read all scheme related documents carefully before investing.
Questions
What people ask us
Fewer than most people think. Four to six well-chosen schemes usually cover every category a household needs. Beyond that you are mostly buying the same underlying companies through different wrappers, paying an expense ratio to each one for the privilege.
Yes. Open-ended schemes can be redeemed on any business day, subject to exit load and applicable tax. Close-ended schemes and ELSS have lock-ins, which we always flag before you invest.
Yes. Existing folios can be brought under our ARN through a change-of-broker request, or simply reviewed and left where they are if that suits you better. We will tell you honestly which is worth the paperwork.
